History

Radiant Oncology is a division of the Center for Neurosciences that specializes in Radiation Therapy. We are known for having a dedicated set of teams that provide the highest quality care possible to our patients. Things happen quickly here. Although we have multiple specialties centered in neurologic care, we have expanded to treat nearly all malignancies, which provided the creation of Radiant Oncology as our new division.

The Center for Neurosciences is the longest standing private practice in Tucson. It was founded in 1950 with Dr. Juan Fonseca and Dr. Charles Elkins. It is a multi-disciplinary group of physicians who have been providing quality care to patients in Tucson for decades. We also have many other services available within the building including Neurosurgery, Neurology, Ear and Hearing, Pain Management, Infusion Services, Radiology and a Laboratory.

We are deeply rooted in the Tucson community, and proudly remain physician owned and operated since the day our doors opened. You can rest assured that at Radiant Oncology, your doctor will make decisions with you directly.

We have been treating cancer on-site for 10 years as a part of the Tucson community. Now, we are proud to announce our newly named division: Radiant Oncology. Radiant Oncology is ready to quickly help you navigate your cancer care while keeping you closer to home.

We know that when you have cancer, your time is precious. So we get things done in real time. Our team is easy to reach and with you every step of the way. Because we are physician owned, with nearly everything you need under one roof, we can and WILL expedite your care. Our team is led by two Radiation Oncologists with extensive training in modern radiation techniques.

Our Radiation Oncologists work closely with medical oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, and more as part of a multi-disciplinary team to plan the best treatment for you. We are laser focused on the details that matter. Our Varian TrueBeam system, equipped with the advanced imaging system AlignRT, provides sub-millimeter precision to get better control of your cancer, with fewer side effects.

Dr. Tijana (Tina) Skrepnik MD, DABR and Dr. Matthew McFarlane MD, PHD, DABR along with our Radiation Oncology Nurse Practitioner Ruth Ferreri bring their experience, their heart, and their citywide connections to provide the peace of mind that no stone is left unturned where your cancer is concerned.
