Neuro-Oncology

Radiant Oncology is home to the only neuro-oncology program in Southern Arizona. Our team of experts offers comprehensive, leading-edge care for patients with brain and spinal tumors. We offer a full range of services, from diagnosis to treatment and beyond. Treatment may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery.

Radiation Oncology

Combined with our neuro-oncologist and radiation oncologist team, we offer the most comprehensive radiation therapy program in Southern Arizona. We use leading technology and techniques to deliver precise, targeted radiation therapy while minimizing side effects.

Neurosurgery

Initial treatment for most brain tumors will be surgery. The type of surgery performed will depend on the type and location of the tumor. In some cases, a craniotomy may be performed. This is a procedure in which a portion of the skull is removed to access the brain. Surgery may also be used to biopsy the tumor or to remove as much of the tumor as possible.

External Imaging Review

Our brain tumor center offers an external imaging review service. This service provides an expert opinion on brain tumor imaging studies from anywhere in the world. A board-certified neurosurgeon and neuro-oncologist will review your images and provide a comprehensive report within five business days.

How to Request an External Imaging Review

In order to provide you with the best possible care, we require a completed external Imaging Review Form, pathology report, and two MRI imaging studies provided on CD or film. We prefer two different imaging studies with different dates to ensure that we have the most recent information available. However, we will review your information even if you only have one MRI imaging study available. We can provide our external imaging review service for patients throughout the U.S.

You may submit all required documents to Radiant Oncology through a carrier that provides a tracking number (such as FedEx or UPS) so that we may track the arrival of your records.

You will be contacted by one of the members of our multidisciplinary team within 24 to 48 hours of receipt of your records. You’ll be given a second opinion by phone, and you will also receive formal written documentation within seven days.

If you have questions about this process or would like to schedule an appointment, please call us at 520-320-2146 and ask for the neuro-oncology department.

Charge for External Imaging Review

The charge for the External Imaging Review is a $100 administrative fee. Please include the payment with your information packet when you submit it to Radiant Oncology.
